I had heard about this performance, but never saw it. Thanks for posting it! Because I was watching it through 2008 eyes, it took awhile for me to determine that Shatner wasn't playing this for laughs! You could almost see Shatner thinking at the end of the performance, "Oh man, the record companies will be lining up to sign me!"

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the performance that created the Shatner's current persona... one that doesn't take himself so damn serious.

Hi Jessica,
I've missed reading your posts - love this, great laugh, although I doubt this was his intention..!

Have a nice week..:)

Dad,
Glad you liked his performance! :)

Arv,
Soooo funny! I love the way that man ‘does’ covers. :)

Hemu,
Laughing is always good! :)

Lena,
When I need a pick me up…this definitely does the trick! lol

Drowsey,
That is the best part…that he’s so serious. lol
I haven’t seen Lucy…I’ll have to check it out. :)

Lauren,
The cigarette adds so much! :D

Hi Gary,
Yes, but funny! :)

Harsh,
His smoking is definitely part of the show. :)

Malcolm,
His seriousness is so much fun for our 2008 eyes!!

It’s funny that you mentioned his look at the end of the performance! That is one of my favorite parts.

His silly grin at the end like…”Yes, that was me…I did that.” He is so proud of himself! :D

India,
Hi…so glad your back! I hope you had fun…I’ve been missing your posts as well! :)
