Is There Anybody Out There?

Do me a HUGE favor...leave me a comment with some happy, exciting, or good news. I'm feeling really down and would love to read about some good stuff that's going in the world, and in your lives. Thanks in advance.

OK, here is the best I can do at the moment:
What do grapes and elephants have in common?
A-they are both purple.
Except for the elephant.

Well, I'm guessing this has at least a little to do with the change in jobs. I know from a fb blurb that you miss your friends. I know you recently wrote about change, and fears.

This past year we left our family, friends, jobs, and everything familiar in Toledo, for the dream of a better life in NC. It was a leap of faith. So I know about the fears and anxiety around change. I also know about the loss and sadness. But I'm old enough to know that I will have many things to be grateful for, both expected and unexpected.

A few good things in my life are that I have a nurturing marriage, healthy children, a job that directly helps people, and enough health and vigor to enjoy many activities. Blogging is one of them. Through blogging I have met many people I am happy to call friends. You are one of them. I'm grateful for YOU.

*refreshing sigh* Thanks, I needed that. I am thankful for friends like you too! Who remind me that this is life and there are many things to be grateful for, and opportunities to learn from! It can be easy to become so self focused that the awesomeness of life is forgotten. So great to have friends who wake me up, again to that fact. So glad you, and your family are enjoying your new home. :)

Sorry I haven't been making my rounds lately, been up in Tennessee visiting my Mom. So that's the good news, I got to see my Mom, which I was excited about.

No worries John! :) I'm glad you got to see your mom! Spending time with family is always important! I got to spend some time with my dad this weekend, which was a welcomed treat!

I am always late for requests like this.. grrr

I guess I should be grateful that I am always busy at work, or with my daughter or hubby.

My daughter, who turned 18 in May started college last week. I kept her close to home, and she is really starting off strong!

She has to do sixteen hours of community service with her fall classes this year. She chose to volunteer at two places! One of them she doesn't even get credit for, but the animal shelter she is helping needs caring people. So, today, on a Sunday, she worked six hours. She took some pics here.

Now here it is 11:30 pm on Sunday, and I am still not asleep.

But I think my boss doesn't fly back until tomorrow, so it should be a fairly easy day!

have a great one!
