Tell Me Something

Why is it that most women are working against each other, or a least looking at each other as competition in every aspect of life? I'm not a die hard feminist or anything, but I have been thinking lately. Most women have gone through similar experiences in life, and are generally in the same boat, so to speak, so why don't they come together to support each other. Often they put on the facade of coming together, but in my experience...this is just for show, or a limited time thing until they find something else to become insecure about. Like I said...I'm not really a feminist, but I think if more women really came together and pursued things...then they could take over the world. hahaha That's an extreme, but you know what I'm saying. I think women would be a lot happier if they realized that most other women are going through the same crap. Then they could help each other through it instead of glaring and cursing from the sidelines. Does that make sense?

It makes total sense and is an excellent question. When I meet another woman I can usually tell right away if she views me as a "sister" or an "enemy". I think as I get older I see less of that mentality, maybe because as women we typically become more secure in who we are as we age.

Great topic. I'm writing this at 1:30 am I hope I made sense.

Funny I have been thinking about this topic too, relating to some very specific people.

I agree with Barbara... as I'm getting older, I'm finding there's less that backstabbing stuff going on. And I've managed to gather around me a great bunch of women. I can count on any of them to have my back when I need them.

Visiting from your link at That's My Answer!, too!

Barbara,
Yes...it does make sense. :) I'm like that too...I can tell when i first meet a girl what their feelings about me are.

Lauren,
I think you're like me...and the way I feel is that it's tough when you are trying hard in a friendship invest a lot of yourself and then find out the other person will let their insecurities/(a guy, another girl...or whatever get in the way.)And I've been guilty of this myself.

Shannon,
Thanks for stopping by! This is such a tough question...I think many women struggle with the answer.

Kelly,
Hi...nice to have you here! I'm hoping I see more of what your talking about as I get older. Now, I'm just starting to realize this...so I hope other women in my age group are too.
