About Gratitude
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. ---Melody Beattie

Thought of the Day
Thought of the day:
To put it simply--The mainstream usage of cell phones has made it quite easy for people to talk to themselves without looking crazy.
That's all I've got for today--if you want more from me, check out my daily photo project!

Joss Stone is Amazing!
Take a look at the video below, it's from the other night. I found one of the only videos of her appearance on the show last week; NBC has managed to take the rest down. If you would like to watch, wait a few minutes for it to buffer, and then the video will play nicely all the way through.

Have You Ever Wanted To....
Turn your brain off and emerge just a little later when things look clear, bright, and sunny.
That is exactly how I'm feeling today.

Shooting Near my Home
Frankly, I'm greatly depressed by the upsurge in crime and plain brutality that seems to be seeping into society as of late.

Chaotically Focused
Thoughts for the Day
A few things to work on each day:
Personality:
Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
Don’t have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
Don’t over do. Keep your limits.
Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.
Dream more while you are awake
Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner with His/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.
Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.
No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
Smile and laugh more.
You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree…Thursday, January 7, 2010
Man Crashes Car Into Restaurant and Then Orders Food
Apparently, a 92 year old man cashed his car into the side of a restaurant, and than calmly got out and ordered breakfast. Waiting until after he ordered to see if anyone was hurt. I can't help but find this a bit funny, although it does provide another example of why people getting way up there in age shouldn't really be driving.

Committed...
is the name of Elizabeth Gilbert's new book; it came out today! The full name being "Committed: A Skeptic Makes Peace With Marriage." As many of you know, she is one of my favorite authors.
I've talked about Gilbert and her last book "Eat, Pray, Love," tons around here. Next week, she is doing a reading and book signing near me--I can't wait!
Well I'm off to go start reading, no doubt, I will write my thoughts when I'm through!
