Good Chick Music ,and a Request

I'm listening to Jessie Baylin. Her debut album Firesight came out this week. She has a pretty unique voice; I really like her. :) Check her out!

Ok, now for the request. In keeping with the topic of music...I'm am putting together a, sort of, get up and go play list. What I mean is, music that will motivate me to go out and conquer the world, so to speak!
So I'm taking suggestions...let me know. What songs, or artists do you put on when you need a bit of strength to tackle life?

I like her voice & style!

As for music I use to motivate me ... it depends. To get moving & cleaning ... etc., I like good old disco, KC & the sunshine band, Earth Wind & Fire .. lots of upbeat stuff.

To motivate me to get walking, I like something rockin' like Stevie Ray Vaughn.

my list is so long....it really depends on the exact mood. When I feel depressed U2 or Bruce work wonders.

I listened to "See How I Run" by Jessie Baylin and really liked it. The song was also the first to when I visited her official website. Right now, I am listening to "Leave Your Mark". This is the type of music I point to as proof that all of today's music does not suck. Where did you discover her? At any rate, thanks for introducing me to her.

As for music that gets me going, here is a sampling:

You Get What You Give by New Radicals

Beautiful Life by Ace of Base

Good Thing by Paul Revere and the Raiders

Optimistic by Sounds of Blackness

I'm Still Standing by Elton John

Shake (live version) by Otis Redding

Never heard of her, sorry. But now I'll listen.

I listen to a bit of everything to get through those times--nothing specific. Although early Steve Hackett solo material usually helps.

Drowsey,
Cool! Good music picks. I’m going to try some disco when I clean. :)

Thanks Arv,
Oasis is one of my picks too! :)

Barbara,
It doesn’t surprise me that your list is long. Lol I love listening to your lastfm station…I’m always introduced to something new! :)

Humu,
Cool, I think Pink Floyd is a popular pick! :)

Bindi,
Thanks. Good to see you! :) I hope you and your family are doing well.

Malcolm,
Awesome! :) I found Jessie on the Bonnaroo website! She rocks, doesn’t she? Btw-on the way to work I was listening to the New Radicals, on repeat and now my ipod will not turn off. lol I guess it likes my music choice today!

Hi David,
Cool, you should, she is great!
I looked up Steve Hackett last night, thanks…good stuff. He’s an amazing artist. :)
